Reiki is an ancient healing art, rediscovered in the late
1800s by Mikao Usui. The Japanese word “ray,” can be
interpreted as higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness.
This is the wisdom that comes from the higher self, or
higher powers of the universe. “Ki” means personal life
energy. All living beings have this energy. When one’s Ki is
low or blocked, they are vulnerable to dis-ease of the mind,
body, and spirit.
During a reiki treatment, reiki flows through the
practitioner into the recipient; The reiki practitioner is a
channel for the reiki energy. Reiki can remove blockages,
lessen stress, pain, and cravings. It can increase ki, or
